Writing stones…

Do you believe that there is a spirit or story inside everything? I am really not sure of the answer … but I think yes – and if not a life or spirit, an energy. Even in stones.

You see, a few months ago on one of my Artist’s Dates I decided to paint some flat stones for my garden…. The idea was that I would write happy and or inspirational thoughts and words on them so when I stumbled across them in the garden I would feel happy….

Of the 10 or so rocks I painted, most were happy ones…. These two stones however, gave me different stories to write. It was as though they had taken on the stories and feelings of people who had encountered them in the past and my pains and I simply the outlet they used to express themselves.

Pain lurks beneath the surface,
Burning my heart and soul…
Knowing you can’t love me,
You don’t need what you take from me,
So silently I pray for you to sink…

Sky of blood,
Icy peaks,
Heartbreak hill rises high….
Love doesn’t soar,
It is an avalanche,
Smothering everything in its path,
Dragging us from where we stood
May we climb on up back to us.
