Josie Young
Passionate about women’s health, women’s stories, social change and connections.
Hi there, I’m Josie.
I am a mat Pilates, reformer Pilates and Barre teacher living in Nipaluna, Lutrawita.
I love writing, advocating, and enjoying delicious food. I’m also fascinated by captivating stories and stormy ocean skies.
I believe that every child has the right to safety and autonomy. I believe that Palestine should be free.
I believe it is the obligation of all of us who were born in safety to fight for those who are not free. No one is free, until we are all free.
In the past, I worked in community project management, education, family violence eradication, social inclusion and with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Now, as well as a mat Pilates and Barre teacher, I bring my experiences together to run meditation sessions, community workshops and work as freelance writer and editor. You can learn more about me by visiting my story.

I acknowledge the Palawa and Pakana people as the traditional owners and custodians of Lutruwita (Tasmania), where I live, work, write, and raise my son. Sovereignty was never ceded—it always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land. I pay my deepest respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging, and honor the enduring connection of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community to this land.
