A Reason to Live is a collection of stories intended to allow the reader to consider how it might feel to to walk in the foot steps of those who have come to Australia from refugee and asylum seekers backgrounds.
I compiled the collection of poems and essays in Reclaiming My Soul to break silence of the fear, hurt and isolation caused by male violence against women.
Violence against women is ugly, isolating and painfully common. For women, sharing our stories brings shame and judgement from others, and our subsequent fear and silence keeps us in a solitary mental and emotional prisons. No one should feel alone. Not me. Not you. I hope my work brings people together and encourages us to support, listen and learn from one another.
